Easy Shamrock Clips

I had some really cute shamrock shaped foam stickers from Michael's and wasn't really sure what to do with them. So, I layered the three different sizes on top of each other, glued on a simple thread bow and a green rhinestone, then glued an alligator hair clip to the back. So incredibly easy and so pretty.

These sweet little clips could also be added to a headband. I decided to clip mine onto a necklace that my sister made for me. So pretty. I can't wait to wear it!!

St. Patrick's Day Wreath

I've never really had any St. Patrick's Day Decorations. I don't know why, I just haven't. So, utilizing things I already had laying around, I decided to make a wreath. I started by crocheting some shapes. I found quite a few patterns for shamrocks, but this one was my favorite. It's supposed to be a four leaf clover, but I like the three leaf better. I found the pattern here. I didn't use a pattern for the hat, but this site had a really cute pattern, though much too large for this particular wreath.

As I said, I tried to utilize what I had on hand, so rather than buy a wreath base, I cut a circle out of cardboard. I also traced the hat onto a piece of cardboard and cut it out. The hat is a little on the flimsy side, and needed some extra stability.

I then traced the circle onto a piece of scrapbook paper, which I then glued onto the cardboard circle.

Finally, I glued all of my crocheted components onto the paper/cardboard circle, glued a scrap of ribbon to the back and viola! An adorable St. Patrick's Day wreath that will be extremely easy to store until next year!!

That project was so fun and easy that I followed up with this smaller version for my mom. I crocheted these shamrocks out of thread rather than yarn by crocheting three of my Valentine's Day hearts, then crocheting them together and adding a stem. I crocheted the rainbow using cross stitch floss, then glued on gold rhinestones.
